I'm sure I miss spelled it cause I can't find anything about it online! Help me out with the spelling please if you can!

I know it has to do with solar heat heating oceans thus causing temperature changes on earth. If no answer, please give a link to a good website!

Thanks!

Thanks!

does anyone know the historic relative background for this song about the harmful things we do to hurt the environment?

are there any important issues during the time this song was written that might have resulted to this song (1971)?

here are the lyrics:
Ah, mercy, mercy me,Ah, things ain't what they used to
be, no, no.Where did all the blue skies go?Poison is
the wind that blows from the north and south andeast.Mercy, mercy me,Ah, things ain't what they used to
be, no, no.Oil wasted on the ocean and uponour seas
fish full of mercury,Oh, mercy, mercy me.Ah,
things ain't what they used to be, no, no, no.Radiation underground and in the sky;animals and birds
who live near by are dying.Oh, mercy, mercy me.Ah, things ain't what they used to be.What about
this over crowded land? How much more abuse from man can
she stand?

Stone age didn't end because we ran out of stones; it ended because we found more efficient and poweful materials. Similarly do you know any fuel source cheapr, cleaner, and more poweful than gasoline?

When visitng my daughter who lives in OHIO, I was SHOCKED to see how much WASTE there was taken away each week in the TRASH? Particularly cardboard and paper, and bottles, it was mind bending! Especially with Global Warming being such an issue today.

I live in England, we have a lot of recycle points, for all materials apart from plastic bags. I put a lot of effort in but felt maybe we are wasting our time, if this type of TRASH is simply DUMPED???
Are those living in America ECO FRIENDLY as we are trying to be accross the pond??? I hope this was an isolated case - but perhaps you can throw some light on it for me.

i.e. one where you brought in your old coffee jars, detergent bottles, egg boxes, washing powder boxes etc etc and had them filled up. It wouldn't sell everything, but most of what you need. If you had no container, it would be supplied in a paper bag, or in a container you could re-use next time. Products would be the same trusted brand names that are sold everywhere else, not cheaper, inferior versions.
Please answer honestly as I'm opening this shop next year, and this is my paper-free, environmentally friendly market research!

I saw 85 pages of answers on a featured question moments ago, entitled "What's the most creative way to inspire friends and family to use eco-friendly light bulbs" - or something very close to that.
I could not believe, 85 pages of answers to this question.

Well since my answer was lost on page 85, never to be read by anyone, I shall paste it here.

You're kidding right?
As if there's no other pressing, important issues in the world, we need to concentrate on eco-friendly light bulbs... By this, one can assume that the typical light bulbs of the past 50 or so years are all damaging the environment so bad, that this issue has to take precedence over the war on terror, lying politicians, Iran's nuke, North Korea's nuke... Even Anna Nicole merits itself as more newsworthy.

I can not believe that this is a featured question. There are so many more things that are actually important than eco-friendly light bulbs.

We're talking about LIGHT BULBS... Yeah, that's important news.

Before World War II the total of radioactivity in all the planet it was of ten cúrios (equivalent the ten gram of radio). The radioactivity practically did not exist. Four decades after World War II, the radioactivity already measured in megacúrios (millions of cúrios), to evaluate the radioactive contamination. Today, one proves in the world, by means of statisticians, who the radioactive remaining portions generated by the frequent nuclear experiences, are not vanished, but yes if they spread for the atmosphere falling on the land in rain form (provoking to the epidemic of the cancer).
