Animals lack the cerebral sophistication required to assess the eco-friendliness of people. I mean, look at a cow. Do you know any people who would poop on tomorrow's lunch?

I think we generally confuse animals coz not much of what we do makes any sense.

IMO there's no such thing as eco-friendly to animals. There's living in balance with nature, which means survival for all species, and then there's silliness, where thoughtless action leads to wholesale destruction. For the most part, animals communicate by body language. Most humans are nervous around animals which makes them wary. Eco-friendly or otherwise, it takes time and patience for the average human to win the trust of an animal (depending on the personality of the animal) and if they don't trust you they're not gonna like you. But if you're a person who understands animals (which isn't defined by your eco-friendliness) they will be more relaxed around you and, depending on the animal and the situation, they could grow to like you quite quickly.

The organic, free range eco-friendly chicken I'm having for dinner tomorrow isn't exactly on speaking terms with me at the moment.

Animals don't like, love or hate. Animals don't have human like emotions.

What you are doing is called anthropomorphism.

Anthropomorphism is the attribution of uniquely human characteristics and qualities to nonhuman beings, inanimate objects, or natural or supernatural phenomena. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthromorphic

By the way, many of us think this is a serious problem.

Animals don't care about or understand people at all. Except maybe dogs, which can be very loyal to people.
