Just finished watching the film "when the levees fell". As a veteran and US citizen, I am outraged. How can this be our beloved country.

Have we really explored every inch of the earth for oil, i think not. We have not even explored all our oceans depths. Would private industry really tell us this? i.e. cigarettes, ford and the firestone tire blunder, enron etc.

when i attended the USAFA, we had an interesting presentation on oil supply and alternative energy sources. Why can't we get a true answer about this subject? If there is an urgent need for new energy sources, wouldn't it be logical to have every resource working toward an answer? If there is a need at all.

On my drive to work, I will occassionally toss an apple core out the window. I only do this in wooded areas, not near any homes or businesses. Would this be considered littering (from an ecological perspective, not legal)? Are there harmful effects of this action that I have not considered?
