Yawn, your body either has a depletion of oxygen, or you may also have asthma! Asthmatics may often yawn during exercise. Itching, your skin is constantly flaking off, it renews monthly all over. So I suppose this is the body's way of making sure the dead skin cells shed easier, by causing an itch which makes your rub off the dead cells. Oh no, I'm now sitting here yawning and itching just thinking about it all.

I agree with the yawn/balance of gasses that most people came up with. But the itch seems to be less probable. I thought we itched because of a reaction of our skin to an irritant. If that irritant is injected inside our skin (as in mosquito bites) then we are still reacting to an irritant, but one that is slightly poisonous and has gone deeper than we can scratch it. And I've never had an itch that went away when I scratched it. Cooling does help, though.

A yawn isn't so much caused by a lack of oxygen, more an excess of carbon dioxide in the brain (when you yawn you completely empty your lungs of all air).
The itch scratch thing is to do with a nerve cell getting stuck in the "on" position for whatever reason, scratching it overloads the nerve with input causing it to reset to the off position.

Yawning occurs because you are tired and the brain is experiencing a lack of oxygen as a result of your breathing slowing down and being less intense when you are.
Normal itching that is not caused by insects or poisen ivy and other such things, is actully caused by your own body hair moving against your skin or a breeze blowing over your body (either natural wind or the wind you generate by moving), it being beacause your skin is always moist! Also, dry skin is a cause, and that is simply so because the skin is inflamed!
It feels better when we scratch because we remove the cause of the itch

A yawn is your body's way of getting more oxygen to your brain and an itch is the inflamtion of your nerves, the best way of getting rid of an itch is to run some water over it.

I bet you all yawned when you read this! i know i did!
It is also thought that people yawn when they see others yawning as an early sign of communication. Before man could speak the theory is a yawn signalled for others to retire to bed!

sahih al bukhari: e book 042, determination 7129: Abu Huraira suggested Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as declaring: The yawning as from the devil. So even as one of you yawns he might want to objective to restrain it so some distance because it lies in his means. properly because the yawning is from the devil for sure Allah swt will dislike it. in view that sneezing isn't from the devil then truly indubitably Allah swt might want to wish sneezing lol? :D the authentic WOO!

i think you yawn bec. you need a large amount of oxygen. you feel itchy because nerve endings in your skin are activated at minute regions unlike that when you pat a persons back.
