I am 21 and I asked my voice teacher about the "breathiness" quality to my singing voice. She said that in graduate school she learned that females go through a slight voice change like males however, it does not occur during puberty. Instead from about 16-22 years of age your voice develops and often loses the breathiness quality.

I am wondering if other people have heard of the same thing and if anyone knows any articles about this that I could read. Thanks!!

I know many people think Springsteen is great and I have no intention to disparage other people's idol but I think Springsteen is an awful singer. He's a good (not great) songwriter, shouldn't he hire a singer with a good voice to front his band. I've never owned or would pay a penny for any Springsteen music because I hate listening to him.

It's like the "Emperor's Clothes", people are crazy about this guy and he can't sing. Even Dylan fans admit he has a terrible voice but they like his style..... I don't see what people see in Springsteen, he's a New Jersey version of Huey Lewis- he ain't rock 'n roll.

I love to sing karaoke online. I told a woman who calls herself nassy_baby_girl_03 on Singsnap that she couldn't sing. I am mydawg8mycat. Is what I did call for me being banned? You listen to her and if you want to me. Please tell me if I was wrong.

Is there a way to sing a high note in your chest register without belting?(Like the lead singer in maroon 5)
What is the correct way of belting. (I can't afford singing lessons) ?
Do you just breath deep in your diaphram and try to sing a high note loudly?
Should I try to belt while lieing down on the floor?
Any tips? I know I should ask a professional but.. I really can't afford one.

Can singing lessons help anyone sing well or do you have to already have a good voice?

I sound completely different when I sing. Like a whole new person. I'm not sure if I'm singing right. My voice doesn't feel as free as I think it should. So this is what I did..

I tried singing but this time it was more mainly with my talking voice but it sounded horrible. With that aside, my voice felt more free like I could blast out the notes but I wasn't too sure if I was shouting or not. It's so frustrating I wanted to give up. Ugh.

Can someone please help me?

I am not talking about the singer that can hit the highest note like Mariah Carey. I am talking about singers who can sing bass and soprano successfully. I am talking about singers who can sing a song that goes up and down 4 or five octaves.

I sing a soprano and I'm doing musical theatre. The only reason I have started to sing is because I want to be Christine in the Phantom of the Opera one day. I guess I'm good because I've been getting lead roles alot. I was just wondering how to make your voice sound like an opera singer's (preferably how Christine does it in songs like 'Think of Me'). I sing fine, but I just can't get it to sound like that!

Back in the early 90's, I remember a video on MTV that looked like a Calvin Klein ad. It was shot in black and white and the hook from the song was "...and ahhhhhhlll never fall in love.." It was on a beach with a topless woman in it. Any ideas?

Hiya!
I've literally started my own band with my girl mate (backing singer) and my boy mate (the pianist) i am the lead singer. We are going to be doing a cover of Evanescence Lithium. I've said that I don't want to be doing covers all the time, I'd like to compose my own music, and because my and my girl mate are doing GCSE music we should be quite good at it, but we not that good. Does anyone know any good tips that could help me and my band members how to compose and also when we do covers, which songs do you think we should do. Me and my boy mate are into Evanescence, but I am into a lot of older music like Queen, The Beatles, The Police.
Thanks

I've been told I have a brillant voice by people that like me, i want to see if i can hold the prefect note, and therefore would like to attempt to sing a long difficult note..

I sang 'i will always love you' whitney houston on karaoke a year ago and won 'best whitney houston that hotel had ever seen' (that was in Lanzarote). Since then i sang 'my heart will go on' celin dion, a few months back, in front of my inlaws and they loved it, i shook all over but they loved it.

I want to test my voice, then hopefully gain some confidence to use it.

I am rather shy, but i do have a recording of me singing 'I will always love you', if you would like to rate it yourself email me and i'll attach it back.

people say that i have a really good singing voice because i can reach some lows and some highs and because i have a really good vibrating tone. However, i sound bad sometimes and i strain it. Also, if i break and too high/low notes, then i break badly.

and i dont know how to breathe like a singer does (by the way i turned 13 two months ago..)

what are some ways to not strain and reach those really high notes without breaking?

If there are other tips on singing then please tell me.
Also, i cannot get a teacher so...yea

if you could also inform me on how to do some vocal tricks or really good sounding vibrations and vocalizing, please inform.

I'd like to find something fun and not too hard. I sing baritone, but can sing most soprano women's parts in a lower octave.

I'd like a song that's fun, not too hard (I'm not a great soloist) and certainly not a ballad.

I do a pretty good job with Helen Reddy's "I Am Woman." It's funny when a guy sings it. I don't even have to change the key -- just drop down an octave.

My girlfriend really wants me to sing for her but I am not really confident in my voice and I don't think I can sing well, but she insists that I should sing for her. Is there anything I could do to work on my voice. Preferably by myself. I was thinking of singing her Shimmer by Fuel because it is easy and the pitch range on it is concurrent with mine.
