Can singing lessons help anyone sing well or do you have to already have a good voice?

Well someone who is completely tone deaf and unable to get a grasp of music will probably never be a great singer, but they can be OK with alot of lessons.

You have to have a vague base of a decent voice, if you can kind of hit the right notes naturally it's gonna make it a WHOLE lot easier and quicker for you to learn to sing than people like I said at first- and you'll probably be better.

Doesn't sound fair? No it's not. But thats the way it is.
I have a friend who is completely tone deaf and has been doing singing lessons for 3 years now- She sounds HORRIBLE when she sings.

I have another friend who has never done singing lessons in her life and she won a competition in Surrey for Best Young Talent in the singing catagory, and will be doing the backing vocals for a singer (im not sure who) who's about to go on tour.

So yeah I guess anyone can SING.
But not everyone can sing WELL.

Anyone who has a voice can sing, but a beautiful voice is a gift from nature, so not all singers are great The training WILL help you to sing better, so I say go for it.

Vocal talent is usually a helpful starting point in being a good singer. Like school, singing lessons will train you and prepare you to be a better singer, but how much you improve is based on how hard you work.

everyone can sing but it depends on how well. a truly good voice (Sandi Patti in the old days for example) is natural for that person but has been trained from an early age. i have been singing since i can remember and have been singing professionally since 6th grade (i am in 9th now). my voice does not sound the same than it did 3 years ago. it has matured and gotten better. people who just sing for enjoyment and don't great voices have flat, breathy toned qualities as opposed to someone who has been trained for a while. hope that helped!

YES! SINGING LESSONS ARE AMAZING! I started lessons ab out 4 months ago with my amazing teacher, I went from being horrible to being one of the best in my grade! My first lesson compared to now is like day and night, I've improved so much! If you find a good teacher, they can do incredible things.

Honestly, anyone can sing. People just need to learn how to breathe through their diaphragm, and use their vocal chords in the correct way. Singing lessons will deffinatley help if you understand what your teacher is telling you.
