I am not talking about the singer that can hit the highest note like Mariah Carey. I am talking about singers who can sing bass and soprano successfully. I am talking about singers who can sing a song that goes up and down 4 or five octaves.

Linda Ronstadt had a five-octave range at one point. Barbara Streisand is reported to have a 4 1/2 octave range, and we all know she can sing pretty low. But if you're looking for someone who can sing very low and very high, Michael Crawford (the original "Phantom of the Opera" a la Andrew Lloyd Webber) has about a 4 1/2 octave range and he can get REALLY low.
