Is there a way to sing a high note in your chest register without belting?(Like the lead singer in maroon 5)
What is the correct way of belting. (I can't afford singing lessons) ?
Do you just breath deep in your diaphram and try to sing a high note loudly?
Should I try to belt while lieing down on the floor?
Any tips? I know I should ask a professional but.. I really can't afford one.

There are plenty of good tips online, but the best way you can improve your singing is to do vocal exercises, the simplest of which is called "the siren". Simply take the note you are singing and "bend" it down as far as you can go and then as high as you can go without straining - if it hurts, you are pushing it too hard. Also be sure to "over enunciate" the vowels - that's a part of the vocal training too. You can also get a book at the library. Try the "Born to Sing" book and CD, or the "Rock'n'roll Singer's Survival Guide" - both will help you.

Stand or sit up straight, feet flat on the floor. Take in a good breath and let the air out all at once to belt, or to just hit the note, let the air out slowly but enough to hit the note and maintain it's pitch.

The diaphram is very important... whether you singing a low note or a high note... always use you diaphram. If you warm up really good, the high note will be easy, if it seems difficult, do some more exercised.

I had singing lessons for a while but im not sure how similar female singing is to male singing.

anyway my teacher told me that in order to access the higher notes properly I needed to lift my soft pallette (the soft bit at the top-back of your mouth)

Some people cant really do it though (i can :) )

Hope that helped x

always put air behind your sound. don't strain to reach the note if you can't the first couple times you try. don't sing from you chest voice cause the sound will be strained.
