that it doesn't mean they don't get the material...it means YOU didn't teach it adequately?

My daughter is a chem major in college, and does very well. She literally spent her entire "break" studying approximately 200 pages of material covering 4 chapters. Now, I don't even pretend to know anything about chemistry....but SHE does, and by the end of the week she was literally in tears wondering how she was ever going to remember it all. The class was given ONE HOUR to do the exam.....3/4 of the class outright failed because they didn't have enough time to finish it. She is devastated. How can this be fair?!

Mind you...this is the same "professor" who does not allow questions during his lectures, OR labs. If the students have a question about ANYTHING, they have to make an appointment to ask it during his "regular office hours". What has happened to TEACHING?? I am paying too much for "production line academics"!

I am graduating in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems. I have always had an interest in teaching, and I would like to work in a school. Right now, I do not want to become a full teacher.

I am wondering if being a substitute could be a full time job? What sort of pay could I expect (and benefits)?

I was also wondering about being an aide, what sort of duties that entails (not special ed), and what sort of pay/benefits are available? Could it be a full time job?

As I will have the summer before the fall semester, I was wondering are their jobs in a school, or should I find some sort of seasonal employment?

What would a "day in the life" entail for a substitute and an aide? What sorts of hours could I expect?

When is the best time to apply for Fall/Winter start?

I am looking at all grade levels. I do know the experience differs at each school and grade level and town. I am just looking for general/average information

I am currently a second year out high school teacher. I am considering going back to uni to do a Masters Degree and then changing careers. I really enjoy some aspects of teaching, namely, it is never dull, my collegues are great, I enjoy working with my students, etc. but there are many aspects that I do not enjoy. I hate constantly chasing my tail and never being on top of tasks, I hate working twice as many hours as I actually get paid for, I hate all the administration, I hate always being tired and not having time for much of a social life and I hate the limited prospects for advancement.

I really don't know what to do. Should I do my Masters in International Development or should I stay teaching? Intl Dev. is an area I have been passionate about since I discovered it during my undergrad degree.

So confused! Please help!

Alot of guys don't like things like this, but it is so hard to find male gifts and as I prepare to graduate I thought about making my instructor a collage which would include things that he taught me and had to do with nursing both words and pictures. This would be in addition to a sincere thank you note for inspiring and helping me throughout my nursing education. I would of course frame it, but would he want it I wonder?? Or does this seem to feminine?LOL

I have been learning English for several years, but I still can not speak English very fluently. I think the main problem is that I have no a good environment or chance to speak with others. So I want to find someone who wants to learn Chinese, since I’m a Chinese speaker. Maybe we can talk through MSN, Skype, etc.
