Are there any websites focused on German teaching? or would i have to buy some books / books on tape?

or some kind of home study course would be good too

There are a lot of websites that focus on German language teaching. I have learnt the elementary level from the Max Muller Bhavan in Mumbai, India. Simillarlly you can contact the German Embassy where you live and you can find some local institute that teaches the language.

that website might give u some good ideas....i personally speak german, my mother was born in germany and put me in german school at age 5, but the easiest way i found to learn german is by tape, by listening to a cd or tape and repeating words out loud!! You could also look around for some local classes or take some classes at a university near by.

your best bet is to contact any German cultural center... call the german embassy and ask them about institutes that teaches German. also take a trip to Germany..if u really want to learn the language.
