Most girls have fears or hesitations when competing with boys, plus girls are wired differently when it comes to competition. When it is a matter of individual performances on skills or fitness tests, I don't think that there is any big gap, aside from natural strength differences.

when i was in high school PE, the girls didnt try as hard as the guys. personally, i think its because it is not considered girly to play sports. it would find it annoying because when the class was split into guys and girls, the games between girls was so boring because only a few girls would put any effort.
