How do you choose students to be on the team?

Have them apply and if you have more kids interested than you have spaces for give them a test with questions similar to what they will face in the decathlon. Their GPA should also be a factor and you can also have teachers fill in a checklist rating their leadership, responsibility and behavior. You can have a few alternates in case someone is unable to attend or if someone quits.
