I'm an Australian teacher looking to travel to the UK on an ancestry visa to teach. I was wondering if anyone could please tell me a good agency to use for employment. I would like one that has a good pay rate and basically a good name with those of you who have taught in the UK.
I know to register with more than one.
I would also like some advice on where to reside whilst I am there. I would like to live between zone 1 and 3 in London, ideally. Also, somewhere where there might be a concentration of us Antipodeans in case i get homesick every now and then. ( And so i can cheer with some people from home when we win the cricket! LOL)
I have heard that it's often an idea to register with smaller, more personal agencies, so does this mean that i probably should avoid capita and those kinds of agencies??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Before anyone gets upset, please read on. I am looking at this topic from a social justice standpoint (not talking about discussing what happens behind a bedroom door). I have witnessed bad behavior by students that could be corrected with education. As many of you know this is a topic that many teachers stay away from either because of their personal beliefs or they fear what parents might say or do. What do you think? Should gay and lesbian issues be taught in schools? How would you teach it? What are gay and lesbian issues?

1. Tell him that she enjoyed having gone to the party with him.
OR
2. Tell him that she enjoyed going to the party with him.

I made a presentation to a group of English teachers and used the first sentence.
Half of them told me that the second form is 'Standard English'.
The other half said both are possible.

I had a dream where my science teacher killed me. She's very scary. I think I have scienceteacherphobia. My friends told me to suck it up but now there's someone running around in my backyard. I already tried running around screaming like a moron for 30 minutes. The only weapon I have is an inflatable guitar I won at Great America last week.

I need help understanding unit plans. I have searched the internet and I'm not learning all that much, and the info seems to contradict each other. I need to create a unit plan for my education class but I never really learned about it. I know what a lesson plan is, but I'm confused about the unit. Is a unit just a main topic.. like Honesty.. and then all the lessons somehow revert back to that main topic? Is that correct? I'm totally lost!!!!
