Try a program called Teaching Textbooks. They are expensive ($185), but well worth it. You can do it on the computer or in the book. My son actually likes math now after using this program!

I was very much like you at one time, an adult with Math issues; it actually pissed me off too.

In order to run you need to walk first ; start with mathematics, adding, subtraction, division; then to fractions as fractions and algebra are related in inequalities and linear equations;
algebra is actually fairly simple as it is more of a balancing act and not real math. Much of Algebra is all about finding something that is unknown, like "X" or "Y"; you'll learn to "plug" in numbers to test an equation, relax though as you may stumble around at first, in the end you will be saying...that was easy.
Math-Al;gebra is something you need to stay on toip of Each Day for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, unless your brilliant, or you could forget alot of what you learn unless you apply it as you learn it.

There are many websites that offer math-Algebra help.
Have fun.

Practicing the problem solving teaches you a lot. And one good source for showing you how to solve the problems is Schaun's Outline Series books on algebra and geometry.
