Assuming a teacher makes a point to correct students' errors in grammar and pronunciation when talking in class, should a teacher instruct a black student who uses the word "axed" to instead say "asked"?

I asked a question on here earlier about contacting an old teacher and everybody gave me good responses but, I still don't know what to put in the letter and how to start it off. The reason I am writing this letter is because I want to be a 3rd grade Teacher and my old 3rd grade Teacher inspired me to want to become one. I just don't know what to say to her when I email her so could you please give me a little bit of ideas???? Thanks!!!

I am currently a high school math teacher (in my 3rd year), and am highly considering a new career path. I have an engineering background, but do not really want to take that route again. Do you know of any career suggestions based on your own experiences? Do you know anyone who left teaching for another career and is enjoying it? What is that field?

I admit that teaching is tough to beat because you get a lot of time off, and the money to me is all right. It just turned out to be not for me.

Thanks for any constructive input that you can give me.

Hello, I'm a newly-graduated teacher and I've just been posted to teach Indonesian in senior school. The trouble is, I'm not a language teacher, but they gave me the job anyway because I'm a native speaker of Indonesian. How do I go about teaching the language?

Hints and tips appreciated, as well as links to language resources and lesson plans that I can start with. School starts in 5 days...ARRRGGGHHH

I've been dreaming of becoming a philosopy professor (since two weeks ago), but i dont know how to become a philosopy professor (i know what classes to take in highschool but not for college) I also would like to know what is it like to be a philosopy professor. And if it is true that you have no fun in life. (because i heard that one from a few of my teachers who have friends who are philosopy professors) Anyways main point:

What is tha career like?

what motivates anyone to become teachers where they are teaching a 'captive' audience trying to instruct and teach a subject that is of absolutely no intrest to some students where these students learn nothing? this is an honest queston that i have wondered about for many years.

What would you like to see done?

Other than make 16-year olds stay on another 2 years. (what's the point anyway if so many can't do basic maths or spelling by the time they leave now, what good will 2 more years do?
PS. I would like to see school and church seperated and follow the Belgian model from there :-)
Answers on an oversized postcard please :-)
