My math teacher only likes kids on his basketball team, who are black (like him), or get straight A's. The other quarter of the class are left in the dust while the others get royal treatment. It makes me feel dumb.

Am I imagining this?

I am going to major in Early Childhood Education (k-4), I was wondering what a good minor to pursue would be. Is there anything any of you wish you knew more about? Or should I just minor in something I'm interested in?

Thank you :)

Im a first year teacher teaching first grade students. I have been using the pulling cards system for those who are misbehaving and it has helped some but not all of the time. There are still some who get up out of their seat, and or talk even after I have enforced the rules. I want to help students learn the best that they can but I know they cant learn well when there is loud talking at
times. I know it is almost February and the last semester. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or ideas for improvement in managing students' behavior in order for me to teach well and for them to learn well at this stage in the school year?

I read in the paper that teachers were needed in the inner city schools in Baltimore. I have BA in history and Minor in Political Science and would be getting my MA in Education (religious education) to be exact, but would like to give something back to the community before teaching in Private religious schools.
I do not have educational degree right now, because the decision to teach came to me recently after I met a high school kid who could not tell me how many senators we have, how many states we have (he told me 52). He came from Baltimore inner city schools.
So, before I would like to teach in Religious private schools I would really like to teach in the Baltimore inner city schools until I finish with my MA in Religious Education (and then give inner city schools couple of more years, before easing myself into religious education)
Any help that you would provide me I would greatly appreciate. Please serious answers only. Because I truly would like to teach for the Baltimore inner city school system.

I am very strongly considering going to school to become a teacher. I am currenlty finishing up my MBA and considering completing a elementry teachers education program afterwards. The program will allow me to get endorsements to teach grades 6-9 in addition to elementry education. I have four children and one has severe autism and epilepsy; being a teacher would give me the hours I need to be with my family.

For those of you who are teachers....do you love your job? Would you recommend your career for others? My son having a disability has caused me to fight for much of his education...I don't always agree with how the school system does things. But I am still interested in a career to teach a little bit older students (3rd -8th or even high school). Please give me any and all advice.

I have a few activites planned, but I need a lesson. Like HOW to write creativley. Any ideas are appreciated. Design ideas are kool 2. Anything to help us is awesome!

A student recieved a grade of a D in a Math course. THe student has a very good academic relationship with this teacher. This student always asked for help when he/she needed it. This student also recieved tutoring from the teacher many, many times and the teacher was always patient and helpful. Now after taking the course and recieving a grade of a D. The student realized that he/she needs a grade of a C in order to not to take the course again which would be very expensive and time consuming. THe teacher did all that he could do during the time of teaching the class, and the student did all that he/she could do. How should the student approach the teacher about changing the grade and what should the student say?
