Libraries are good sources for used magazines. You can also try the local recycling center. If you go to a church, place an announcement in the bulletin that you are collecting old news magazines and let people know where to drop them off.

Along with the other suggestions, you could talk to a local library about giving you their old magazines if they are going to get rid of them. Also, contact the magazine companies to seeif they could send you old magazines that were extra copies. I knew a teacher that did that. She got A LOT of magazines for class.

Sometimes newspapers offer free subscriptions to schools so you should try calling a magazine company and see if they would be willing to mail you a few magazines.

check with your local dentist and doctor offices. Let them know of your need and see if they would let you "recycle" the old ones from their lobbies.
