I Personally Believe it is, but IV never seen it written in the Bible. When preachers preach against it do they ever give reference? If so can some one help me out? I would really like to know. Thanx! (ewww if you know the answer can you give me a reference so I can look it up in my Bible. Thanx!)

I just want to know what your first year of teaching was like and when it got better. And some general advice you would give to a potential high school teacher. I know about the age group and how a lot of them will be immature, but that's not what I'm concerned about. Thanks!

Do you start off the year by teaching your students lowercase letters, uppercase letters, or both simultaneously?

Dear Student,
As you enhanced your reading by reading a lot, so you can get better at listening by listening a lot.

I teach in a Montessori preschool/kindergarten. I was wondering, in regards to language, do you expect that the students starting school recognize and/or write lower case letters, upper case letters, or both? I normally focus on lower case letters in my classroom, except when a capital letter is used (beginning of a sentences, writing their name). What grade do you teach? Thanks!

I tutor reading and want to make this a quick project for kindergardeners and 1st graders.

Any ideas or sites?

THANK YOU!!

Are you doing it because you like the flexibility or to get your foot in the door? (Or another reason?) Any other comments? (I just started subbing yesterday and I'm going back tomorrow, so I'm not sure what I'm in for yet!)

i meen peeple spell mistakes on accident so wut? maybee they are in a hury. maebe they jus wunt to typpe that way, wy shood yoo kare? It doesnt meen theur dumb or arent smaart. wy shood peeple hoo want to typpe thurr own way types likee u? it doesn't meen dey dunt no how to use grammr. cant u peeple reed? dats y u go 2 grade skewl. to lern to reed no mattr how bad sum1's pelling izz.

I mean people spell mistakes on accident so what? maybe they are in a hurry, maybe they just want to type that way,why should you care? it doesnt mean their dumb or anything. Why should people who type their own wat type like you people? it doesn't mean they dont know their grammers. Cant you people read? Thats why you go to grade school to learn how to read no matter how bad someone's spelling is.

I mean is it that hard to just respect others by how they want to type? or even if they make a mistake? Not all of us on Yahoo.Answers are adults.
Hope some of you learn to now repect the way people type.

I just finished my general associates degree and it is now time for me to decide if I want a degree in teaching elementary or high school. I love little kids and I would love to teach math in high school. I do not care for the attitudes of junior high kids so thats not in the picture. So I was just curious if one made more than the other. This obviously will not be my deciding factor but it would be nice to know. Oh and one more thing, teachers do get health insurance, right?

...would you submit a letter of resignation and move on? I took a position as an English teacher at a private school where it has become increasingly clearer that there is no real leadership in place. The parents of the kids who have discipline problems are the ones who call the shots. Thus, the kids who would like to learn must daily put up with the loud, authority-resistant kids who often monopolize class time. I have built a rapport with several of the kids and have no desire to just abandon them, but I am being advised by family and friends that this school is a time bomb. The thought of leaving grieves me, but so does the thought of staying in these circumstances. The principal does not attend parent meetings, offers no support to teachers, and has been caught lying about the circumstances surrounding what appears to be a case of racial discrimination.
I love the kids, who are clueless to what a sinking boat their school has become. What would you do? Stay or go?

The sun was shining on the sea,
Shining with all his might:
He did his very best to make
The billows smooth and bright --
And this was odd, because it was
The middle of the night.

The moon was shining sulkily,
Because she thought the sun
Had got no business to be there
After the day was done --
"It's very rude of him," she said,
"To come and spoil the fun."

The sea was wet as wet could be,
The sands were dry as dry.
You could not see a cloud, because
No cloud was in the sky:
No birds were flying overhead --
There were no birds to fly.

The Walrus and the Carpenter
Were walking close at hand;
They wept like anything to see
Such quantities of sand:
`If this were only cleared away,'
They said, `it would be grand!'

`If seven maids with seven mops
Swept it for half a year,
Do you suppose,' the Walrus said,
`That they could get it clear?'
`I doubt it,' said the Carpenter,
And shed a bitter tear.

`O Oysters, come and walk with us!'
The Walrus did beseech.
`A pleasant walk, a pleasant talk,
Along the briny beach:
We cannot do with more than four,
To give a hand to each.'

The eldest Oyster looked at him,
But never a word he said:
The eldest Oyster winked his eye,
And shook his heavy head --
Meaning to say he did not choose
To leave the oyster-bed.

But four young Oysters hurried up,
All eager for the treat:
Their coats were brushed, their faces washed,
Their shows were clean and neat --
And this was odd, because, you know,
They hadn't any feet.

Four other Oysters followed them,
And yet another four;
And thick and fast they came at last,
And more, and more, and more --
All hopping through the frothy waves,
And scrambling to the shore.

The Walrus and the Carpenter
Walked on a mile or so,
And then they rested on a rock
Conveniently low:
And all the little Oysters stood
And waited in a row.

`The time has come,' the Walrus said,
`To talk of many things:
Of shoes -- and ships -- and sealing-wax --
Of cabbages -- and kings --
And why the sea is boiling hot --
And whether pigs have wings.'

`But wait a bit,' the Oysters cried,
`Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!'
`No hurry!' said the Carpenter.
They thanked him much for that.

`A loaf of bread,' the Walrus said,
`Is what we chiefly need:
Pepper and vinegar besides
Are very good indeed --
Now if you're ready, Oysters dear,
We can begin to feed.'

`But not on us!' the Oysters cried,
Turning a little blue.
`After such kindness, that would be
A dismal thing to do!'
`The night is fine,' the Walrus said.
`Do you admire the view?

`It was so kind of you to come!
And you are very nice!'
The Carpenter said nothing but
`Cut us another slice:
I wish you were not quite so deaf --
I've had to ask you twice!'

`It seems a shame,' the Walrus said,
`To play them such a trick,
After we've brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!'
The Carpenter said nothing but
`The butter's spread too thick!'

`I weep for you,' the Walrus said:
`I deeply sympathize.'
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.

`O Oysters,' said the Carpenter,
`You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none --
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.
