Verbal praise in front of their peers: "good job, michael", "good effort, jimmy," "nice colors, susan", "great line today, kids" -- general comments: "you are one of the best classes I've ever had", "that's real teamwork!"

At our school we have an informal 10-to-1 rule: we try to have 10 positive comments or reinforcements for every negative or corrective comments.

A very inexpensive visual reward system is motivating: stickers, stars, etc -- but only make it positive, no demerits or anything. Small successes count.

When I taught K-1, we had a daily class point goal (two points for quick quiet lines to lunch or recess, two points for work area cleanup before transitions, etc.) If the class made 40 points in a week, we had a popcorn party on Fridays and an additional period of in-room free play.

Guide the class in developing a standard of good behavior which can be posted and praise them when the demonstrate those behaviors and remind them that will just a little more effort they can achieve them when things are slackening off.

Watch for the kids who come to school upset, tired, unkempt, cranky, hungry. They need extra attention and care and need to know that they are safe and cared for at school.

your Q is delight for each child techniques should be tailor made
but the most important thing is 'let the child feel that the way he/she is very good, productive, responsible" if the child feel that he is OK then only child can try to understand what you except from him/her read some book but be the tailor for child
Give complete attention, listen what child want to say
give complete respect to him/her the way we give to others,
validate his/her feeling, don't think in logical terms only.
but express your self also by using his/her way of language, respecting them and there ideas, is very important for there whole life
if they grow with the feeling of OK they will come up with good result.

try to learn something from children everyday it's wonderfull.

Every child likes to be the "teacher's helper". When kids are given responsibility, they are excited and will suprise you with how well they live up to it!
