A school teacher's salary in England will depend on:

- where he/she teaches (Inner London/Outer London/Rest of England
- His/her level on the pay scale (primaraly relates to number of years teaching experience)
- adiitional responsabilities undertaken

As a guide, the lowest value on the Main Pay Scale for Sept 2007 is 20,133 GBP.

Main scale starts at around £19k, same for primary or secondary, with allowances for extra responsibilities.
