To make my answer short, Yes! A sales perso advertises and the product and a salesassistant does all the paper work after they sale the product.

The Salesperson sells. The Salesassistant assist in the sale.

sales assitant is usually based in a retail store sales outlet, to provide customer service to in-house customers coming in.

A sales person, can not only be store based, but also be an outside the store venue, door-to-door, telemarketing, on-the-road, type of sales representative.
