The problem here is the conflict between "as" and "so". Remember that "as" is equivalent to "because." The two clauses are not causal relationships, so "as" is not appropriate. Try this instead:
You enhanced your reading skills by reading frequently, and now you will do the same for your listening skills.

Dear Student,
Not only have you enhanced your reading by doing it so well, you're also able to improve your ability to listen as well.
(The words,"a lot" don't exist in the dictionary.)Practice not using them in sentences or when you speak. Replace them with ,"many,a great deal,"etc..

It is not correct.
"Your additional reading has improved your reading skills a great deal, you can further improve your comprehension by improving your listening skills".
or
"You are reading so much better since you're been reading more. You will continue to improve your comprehension and other skills by listening carefully"
Try to reduce the reduntancies in your sentences; reading , reading / listening, listening.

the person should have left out " a lot " i hope that wasnt a professor at a university.it would be ok for a high school teacher though. those 2 words are double negatives and prepositions and do not have a leg to stand on.if you have read a lot then you would have enhanced your reading and listening abilities. thats par for the course.however you do understand the statement?

Try this, it's a little wordy, but seems to flow better:
Dear Student,
Just as you have enhanced your ability to read through reading frequently, you will enhance your ability to listen only through listening to others.

Here's my take:
Dear student, just as you can improve your reading by reading more, you can get better at listening by listening more.
I think though that's a less ambiguous sentence, I've not really found anyone getting better at listening by listening more. They get better at listening when they learn that there is a higher wisdom outside their heads!
