I mean people spell mistakes on accident so what? maybe they are in a hurry, maybe they just want to type that way,why should you care? it doesnt mean their dumb or anything. Why should people who type their own wat type like you people? it doesn't mean they dont know their grammers. Cant you people read? Thats why you go to grade school to learn how to read no matter how bad someone's spelling is.

I mean is it that hard to just respect others by how they want to type? or even if they make a mistake? Not all of us on Yahoo.Answers are adults.
Hope some of you learn to now repect the way people type.

You guys gotta remember that if you hurry up the spell chack and just click on "change" over and nover against trying to hurry things up, then you might accidentally choose a word that you didnt want.

That is exactly why there is a spell checker. If you are a hurrying typist or just a bad speller -you can click and get the computer to repair it. The process is fast and the results look so much better.

The point of learning to read is not to permit you to decode written words "no matter how bad someone's spelling is."

I believe that failing to make an effort to fix your spelling is not something you outgrow when you are an adult. If you don't give a darn how people perceive you as a kid you won't be any better as an adult. There are some places in life where appearance does count and getting your written info to look good while you are young is a great way to get ready for that.

Do you respect people who drive poorly? People who drool when they eat and chew with their mouths open? Do you respect a person who can't button a shirt properly?

If you don't spell correctly when you type, it could be that you have not mastered how to use a spell checker. Anyone can use a spell checker. It is not hard to do.

Bad spelling is generally a sign of laziness. Either you are too lazy to use the spell checker or too lazy to pull out the dictionary. English is a difficult language to spell, and people who speak English generally consider bad spelling to be the sign of a dummy.

You might be a genius, but if your spelling is poor, most people will not take you as seriously as they will someone who can spell correctly.

You will be considered as less intelligent if you spell poorly, no matter what talents you have.

Is there something wrong with considering people who do something well as more mature, intelligent or careful than those who do something poorly? Is incompetence as worthy of respect as competence?

Well while we're respecting everyone for their mistakes, maybe we should start respecting mass murderers & rapists for their mistakes too, right?

This site has SPELL CHECK. If you learn how to use it, you will get MUCH better responses. Proper grammar and spelling show maturity, and your question will be taken a lot more seriously.

Use the resources available to you and you won't be degraded for something as simple as spelling.

Do you really mean respect people FOR their mistakes? Or do you mean respect people DESPITE their mistakes? And if the former, it isn't such a huge leap to respect people for other mistakes, although I think it is a leap to respecting people for their deliberate crimes! If you mean despite, well I guess you can see that not expressing yourself clearly has some built-in drawbacks.

It's not about rushing to answer a question or making a comment it's about adding your thought carefully in a constructed manner.
What if all news paper's and media outlet's were to do that? can you imagine what would happen? am not saying you should insult or be insulted about spelling. but, it is important that if your going to "wrighte," i mean write something, it can be read by all.And not just those of us who can understand that.

Typing errors are one thing. Spelling and grammar mistakes are another thing entirely.

I personally detest 'internet speak.' I may write a few LOLs here and there, but spelling 'wat' for 'what' and 'sum1' for 'someone' is just kind of stupid, in my opinion. I understand the point in text messaging, but in asking a Yahoo question or writing in an internet blog, there really is no point for that.

What an odd notion--respect people for their MISTAKES? Forgive them, maybe, but RESPECT them? I don't think so. I hope when you start to drive you don't feel that way about traffic regulations, too. And besides, there is no excuse for bad spelling on this site--it will CHECK IT FOR YOU.

what do you expect it's just a bunch of unemployed jack a.s.s.e.s. who sit here all day long trying to prove something.

don't let them bother you.

if their genitals were visible to the naked eye maybe they'd find something to do with all that spare time.

OR if they weren't so fat their arms could reach their crotches and then they would have something else to do with their spare time.

Respect people for their mistakes? You mean forgive them for their mistakes.

Sounds like you got more than grammetical and spelling issues. You also need to work on your rhetorical skill as well. I have no respect for people who can't even express their opinion properly. They should just stay with phrases like 'do you like frys with that?' or 'would you like to biggy size that?'.

BTW, you do sound familiar. Do you work the night shift at.....
