I have a rather time-consuming project that my teacher says she is going to keep. She says that she doesn't care if we want it and that she refuses to let us keep our hard work. I think this is wrong. Your thoughts?

I am a teacher and am attending a workshop tomorrow. I need an example of an assessment for the class. I am having a hard time deciding. Can you throw out some assessments ideas? I teach foreign language and besides testing there are speaking assessments, written, etc. Any interesting ideas?
Thanks!

~~~~Paper Noise Maker?
I remember making this cool noise maker out of paper in 5th grade, but can't remember the folds. I remember that when it is folded, you grab the two pointy ends and hold on as you throw it like a baseball. Then the other end of the paper unfolds like a parachute and makes a really loud POP! sound. I loved this thing as the more you used it, the louder it would pop. I am a teacher now and would love to show the kids this. Can anyone explain or show me a link online?
A million thanks!.......
I am in the UK and in my third year of teaching. I have heard that teachers in their third/fourth year of teaching can have a grant that they can use for professional development (or that was the case a few years ago). I cant seem to find any information about it on the internet though. Does anyone know how to find out more or apply for this grant?
This is for Chicago Teachers, in particular.
Some principals, in an effort to prevent teacher absences AND tardies, want to dock a teacher's paycheck. Now, I can see if a person is absent a lot, for this affects the student's that it is their job to teach, but tardies? I only could see tardies, if the person consistantly arrives AFTER the students have arrived, because that WOULD possibly affect the students. But teacher start time is 8:30, however, 8:30 is a prep. If a monetary value is placed on a prep, wouldn't that apply to ALL teacher preps, and the teacher's now should be compensated if they miss getting one? Is this a union issue, board issue, or both? Isn't this a change in the agreement, and a waiver must be submitted and signed by the union and the board?
I'd really like to know what to tell the LSC.
Like you just say a simple hello, and they just look at you and that's it. But in class they're all talkative and stuff.
I don't have many resources outside of the spelling lists in our reading program. I'd like some more challenging lists that still have a pattern (like long vowel digraphs, etc). Thanks for any sites.
Like say a child out of the blue starts harassing other children in a very inappropriate way.
Isn't that a red flag that that child has been abused especially sexually?
But oh no teachers don't realize that.
I am a young female teacher at an all boys school. The boys I teach are testy especailly with female teachers. I am therefore very firm and strict and it works for me especially for classroom management, block management, etc. I feel I MUST get respect from them.
However, I find that my students are afraid to ask me questions or to tell me personal things. How do I let them see that although I stand for discipline, that I'm also approachable on personal matters?
I will be interviewing for a new job for the next school year and I feel that the best way to show a future employee what I do in my classroom is to show pictures of the students in action. Is it appropriate??
i've been going to this dating website for a year and so has he. he's sent me two emails i haven't opened them yet and i don't think i will unless i see he doesn't come online anymore. namely, this person is my professor & he knows i know it's him.
i have my pride & dignity and I'm not going to open something that might lead into some form of manipulation. if he truly cared about me, he'd send me a private email, right?
