i've been going to this dating website for a year and so has he. he's sent me two emails i haven't opened them yet and i don't think i will unless i see he doesn't come online anymore. namely, this person is my professor & he knows i know it's him.
i have my pride & dignity and I'm not going to open something that might lead into some form of manipulation. if he truly cared about me, he'd send me a private email, right?

eww. This would have been helpful to know in the how do I confront my professor question. Don't open the emails and continue on for the brass ring. Stay off the dating sites until you are done.
If it is love, it will wait. It would be a mess to get into that now.

This is playing with fire! You should understand that in most schools, it is sexual harassment for a teacher to make any kind of advance to a student. Even if the student wants it or accepts it. This guy is probably breaking the law by sending you these, and he knows it. So what does that make him?
If you had an affair and one of you broke it off, there is a huge threat of something happening bad... Aren't there any guys in your school? Find a nice guy and stay out of trouble!

You're doing the right thing. Keep it professional until you finish taking his classes. Then, if you're interested, you can open the e-mails and see what they're all about if you feel like it.
