I am looking for some good children's songs that get the children involved by using their hands or dancing around or doing something. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. If possible, please include both the lyrics and the actions. Thanks!

This was an experiment from middle school that my teacher did and I cannot recall the 2 everyday materials that he put in the beaker, but it "boiled up" and grew into a stack of this black, gross smelling stuff.

I want to be a PE teacher but I am 23 and dont want to go back to school for very long. i went to College briefly after high school and never finnished cause i couldnt decide what I wanted to do. I dont know if the amount you have to pay for school is worth the money you will recieve in salery. I know that the experience is probably priceless but I make pretty good money doing what I am doing now(car parts), just not happy doing it. Any one want to share their experiences and advise to help me decide wether to pursue this dream? thanks

I recently graduated from my PGCE and, unable to get a teaching job, and with paperwork required for agency work yet to come through I decided to apply for a teaching assistant position. I have the interview tomorrow, and have definately decided I don't want the job, I need to stick it out or I may never do my NQT year. Obviously I may not get the job, or I might, how should I play it so that I can definately refuse the job, but still keep on good terms with the school as it's local to me and so there's every chance that in the future I might get supply work there, or even be tempted to apply for a permanant job there?

I have a teaching interview tomorrow. I am almost prepared now (I have to teach a lesson as well as be interviewed). I am terrified. It's my first interview and I need to get rid of these nerves so I can perform tomorrow instead of messing it up because I'm shaking. Any useful advice?

What are the benefits of student-led parent conferences?
I'm a teacher and I'm just wondering. I've heard about student-led conferences using powerpoint slides but I'm not really sure how to that with kindergartners. Did it work for any of you?

And if so, how does this affect your pedagogy? Do you find yourself trying to be more inclusive in terms of how you talk about family and community? Or do you just ignore it and leave it unacknowledged?

I am trying to apply to this program that helps out students who want to become high school math teachers. They are asking me for an essay on why i should be admitted into the program. I have no clue how to even start this. Anyone have any good ideas?

I'm looking for clever, cute, or funny names to name my groupings in my math class. Students are divided into groups by ability (so I can differentiate learning) - but I want names that DO NOT show that. The names do not have to be math related - but that would be an added bonus. I haven't decided if I'll use 3 or 4 groups, so any ideas for either will be greatly appreciated. (One group only has 2 people, so it might get combined with another). I'm teaching 5th graders, in a very rural (some Amish) community.

PLEASE BE CREATIVE!
