Song. "A, my name is Alice and I come from Alberta"

Students sit in a circle, you start with the above, the student on your left sings a "B" verse, "B, my name is Benny and I come from Brazil", and so on around the room. If they miss, they are out. Last one in wins.

I found that spelling is really helpful for students of all ages, and making children aware from the beginning on how to decode combinations of letters can make a big difference in class.
The first step to do that is to be sure that students know the alphabet and I realized that it is more important for children to learn words individually than in order; if they forget one they cann't keep going!
I teach them the alphabet by families; every family has its similarities: color and sound. I prepare one flashcard for each letter by writing every letter in the word processor and printing them as large as possible. You can print every letter in the color of the family and have a frame around it in the same color. Pick a family each day and do a repetition drill or a game with it, you can even invent stories about the family; students get used to perceiving a sound that is similar in all the letters of the family which helps them decode the ones they don't remember.
These are the alphabet families: colors are optional, choose whichever you like. Just make sure to keep the letters with similar sounds in the same family.
Family #1 (red) -- a h j k
Family #2 (blue) -- b c d e g p t v z
Family #3 (yellow) -- f h l m n s x
Family #4 (green) -- i y
Family #5 (orange)-- u q w
Family #6 (purple) -- o
Family #7 (pink) -- r

After using songs and straight memorizations--I have my students try to say the french alphabet as fast as they can--some can say it in four seconds now!--Flyswatter or fingerprint is a good game for anything they memorize. or hear and say.

Put the alphabet letters in random order on the board. Two students have flyswatters. the teacher (later, a student) calls a letter, the students race to hit it with the flyswatter.

fingerprint--you have them race to touch the letter, but I prefer flyswatter as it keeps them from hitting each other.
(If they do, we put the swatters away and do a worksheet.)

Prepare cards that have an ear and an eye. Write a letter under the ear, and the eye. (When you hear "A" say "Q") The second pupils card would then have a Q under the ear and maybe an M under the eye. Prepare enough for everyone and it the students have to listen and say the letter properly for the game to work. (So the teacher starts and says "A". Student one says Q. student two says M etc.) Shuffle and play again. (then put the cards away carefully for next year. It is difficult to make up.)

A 4 twelve months previous has very short interest span and you of course can not prepare her alphabet the form you probably did to older new child. My suggestion is to do it in a play-like way. Like getting her out to play sand and write the alphabet on it. project her to stay with and make her inform you back what's written on the sand. different than for alphabet it. you could draw photograph that starts with that alphabet and have her guess. Play video games together with her that during touch letters and finally she would have the ability to %. up the academic.

If you wish to help your child learn to see successfully, maybe not with TV and videos, pc applications and apps, or even the school program is the answer, this system, Children Learning Reading, from here https://tr.im/Tg5xQ is.
For a child to successfully learn and grasp studying abilities they need consistent interest in one or both parents. With this in your mind, but, the instructions are held short from 5 to a quarter-hour a day.
With Children Learning Reading system you will also build and boost your connection with your son or daughter not merely how to see effectively.

sit in a circle...have them whisper a word beginning with what ever letter you want to the next person...go around the circle and see if it is the same word they started with...have them spell the word they started with...start over...with another letter....etc.

it helps them to spell and pronounce the language and it is fun...you can progress to sentences and then to punctuation...it is hysterical hearing what teenagers come up with! LOL :-)
