I attended a high school that offered Japanese, Mandarin, and Russian in addition to the more common Spanish, Latin, German, and French. I think any language that is offered will be important in one's educational growth because not only does that student get to learn another language, they might learn an aspect of the culture that langauage brings.

We are already being taught French, German, and Spanish. I think that Mandarin Chinese (as it is more spoken than any other language) should be open to high school students, and Russian should be available to middle and high school students.
