Being a new ontario teacher i know a bit but... essentially she will be required to provide an appropriate education for her child.

She should contact the principal of her local school and often a community has a home-school association as well. You could contact them as well.

You can look at the Education Act for the responsibilities

One quote...

"When attendance excused

(2) A child is excused from attendance at school if,

(a) the child is receiving satisfactory instruction at home or elsewhere;

Not sure about Canada but in the US the requirements are set by the state school board. Usually the local school know the rules so contact the local school and ask them.

In ohio the kids just need to be able to either pass a test or be evaulated by a teacher to ensure they are at grade level and the parents turn in the detials on materials used in teaching - text books, videos, websites, etc. There are usually a set of standards per grade that say what they are suppose to cover in the areas of Math, History, Language etc. and then certian other factors that must be met in phys. ed., art, etc.

I fairly want abode education to regularly occurring college. it rather is frequently lots much less complicated and there is not any longer as lots stress or rigidity as there is once you're attending an truthfully college. additionally, you may think of roughly getting in touch in a house education group, so which you are going to be in touch with different teenagers doing an identical element as you! stable luck! ;]
