There are several stages to learning - and the last one is termed "practice". Only by practicing or investigating the concept, skill or idea will you be able to fully understand it.
That's why your teacher assigns you Math questions to do at home. And why you have to do some research or writing at home for English or Social Studies. There simply isn't enough time at school for each student to be able to have the practice time they might need in order to "get" what your teachers are trying to explain to you.
My best advice is not to see homework as a chore, but rather your opportunity to see just how well you understand the lesson. If you've got it - then the homework will be easy. And if you still are working to understand it - then the homework will help. Either way, it's useful and necessary.

To make sure you are indoctrinated succeffuly. School is an indoctrination machine desgined for only one thing.....to spit you out as a programmed robot where you become nothing more than a brainwashed cog of the next generation, a system serving slave being told what to do, always with ur head down. What is lackingly called the "education" system is there to implant beliefs in your mind so that you believe in a certian reality and will then never challange the power structure. Homework is there to futher implant you....to keep you busy so you cant use the right side of your brain vs. the left, its to basically....dumb you down.

Most teachers think its fun for you to do the work... some assign it as busy work (so you won't talk) and some just don't care about how much you have to do. I have a algebra 2 teacher that doesn't like busy work, she just makes up do enough work to prove that we get it.. but even if we don't, we still can get full points if we try every problem.
