I am going to start high school in the fall this year and I am very excited. The orchestra at my school, from what I hear, is not that old, fairly new. So it might be looking for anybody. But how many years of experience would you need on an instrument to join on average? I know some instruments probably require more than others, so please try to list as many as you can. Thank you.

I might have asked this question to a narrower audience, but I am too lazy to search such a forum. I apologise to all those for whom this message is a bother.

I know a 12 standard (grade) student studying in Chennai, India. The question he has is - Must he have the science and mathematics in his 12th, if he wants to do a graduate degree in Science in India. (B Sc. Physics, or Bsc. Maths.)

Second Question -
Are Science and Maths required if he wants to join the Indian Airforce?

(Again, I apologise to the majority to whom this question might be irrelevant. Maybe you can tell me if this is possible in your country / university.)

A couple of weeks before school let out our principal was making the morning announcements and well there were alot of food functions happening in the last two weeks of school, so i guess she thought she add in a joke saying and i quote "By the time school is over you will all be obese!" unqote, I felt disgusted and seriously offended. She acted as if it was some kind of disgusting contagious disease. After all that you could even hear her laughing over the intercom. Was this very proffesional of her? Was she acting as an adult in a superior position should? what do you think?

it's not ok for students to be rude but it's Ok for teachers to be rude.

She is feeling like she doesn't want to teach anymore because of all the politics involved. She thinks that the childs needs should be the number one prioity but too often it's the political needs that get taken care of first. Teachers today teach to state tests instead of the material that should be taught. She is thinking about doing something but she doesn't know what she should do and still fill the passion of teaching. Working in a daycare is not really the same thing, any ideas?

Hi.

My girlfriend is a kindergarten teacher at an elementary school, and she said there's this little boy named Henry who's a bit...naughty.

She came in and everyone got silent, (because the teacher's in), and to brighten things up she said, 'why are you guys staring at me?' and Henry says, 'we're staring at your boobs!'

How is she supposed to respond to this? She didn't tell anyone except me so far. I think she's too embarrassed to talk to the principal or his parents. THanks!

I applied to a University of California school for the fall semester and I got in. Problem is: the school requires that all prospective students earn grades of "C"s or better. I got a "D" in a history class, which to this day, is heavily disputed.

The teacher initially gave me an "F" but changed it to a "D" so I could graduate on stage, but even this "charity" grade is far below me. I turned in everything and did everything I was supposed to do. I even counted the work I got back and discovered that I had a "B" average. He gave me the bad grade BECAUSE HE DOESN'T LIKE ME! I've appealed this grade a few times already and I've had meetings with teachers, but according to my principal, "by law," she "cannot force a teacher to change" my grade.

I just called the UC school. They told me that my imminent rejection is highly likely and that there's nothing I can do about it. Deadlines to submit final High School transcripts are on July 15.

WTF CAN I DO?!!
