Middle school grades don't count at all.
If you want to go to MIT, start out by calling the admissions office and telling them of your interest. Or, visit www.mit.edu, click on admissions, and open a MyMIT account. You aren't too young to start learning about MIT.
For high school, good grades won't guarantee you getting in. However, you should:
1. Take the most challenging classes that you can (Honors, AP, IB) and get good grades (mostly A's and a few B's).
2. Do things besides school and be a leader in the things you choose to do. Join clubs, play sports, and make yourself stand out from the other "smart kids."
3. When it's time to apply, get great recommendations from the teachers and people in the community that you've worked with.
Also, what the guy said about being stellar simply isn't true. It's hard to get in because of the numbers of people who apply, but if you are a well rounded student with good grades, you stand a good chance. Not all of us did something stellar; we certainly all aren't geniuses; and most of us weren't valedictorian.
Good luck to you. Maybe you'll make it into the class of....2015?

Just about everyone who gets in to MIT was the valedictorian or salutatorian of their high school. You pretty much need a 4.0 in high school.
Nobody will look at your middle school grades. But if you are entering high school now, you have to start getting straight As right off the bat.

You have bigger problems then grades.
When I called MIT years ago, the admissions department told me that everyone who applied, all 10,000 applicants (well maybe 4,000) could get in and do well.
They select applicants based on some outstanding accomplishment they have done. Like one girl got in because she competed in the Worlds Irish dancing compettion in Ireland. It has to be unique and show high accomplishment.
That's why I said you have bigger problems than just your GPA, which of course also has to be stellar.
9th grade scores and on up count in your gpa to MIT.
