It depends on what type of classes you take. For college prep classes its a 4.0, for some honors classes its 4.5, and for AP and honors its a 5.0.

I had gotten a 5.0 one year with 5 As and a B+ (2 ap the rest honors) so you could probably get all the way up to a 6.0 with more AP classes (i think my valedictorian had a 5.8). Without honors or ap the highest gpa you can get is a 4.0

At my high school, the highest unweighted GPA was 4.0, but there were opportunities for weighted credit. If you took an honors class, that was an extra point, and if you took an AP class, that was two extra points. There were people who graduated with GPAs that exceeded 5.0.

It depends upon the grading system. If 4.0 is an A, then 4.0 is the highest GPA you can get.

In my school, you were awarded a 4.4 if you aced an AP (advanced placement) class. Therefore, we had students who graduated with grades in excess of 4.0.
