I'm starting high school in a month, and i'm freakin SCARED TO DEATHHHH!!! i have no idea wat high school to go to. i cant even sleep some nights cuz im so worried. heres my problem:
i dont know if i should go to a brand new high school, get a fresh start and make new friends
OR
go to my home school, with all my old friends, and it would be a little easier. once you read to this point, youd be saying "DUH just go to your home school". but seriously, in middle school there was alot of people i hated that hated me and i dont want to go thru all that crap again for another 4 years, since most of them are going to my home school. so what high school should i go to??

I am a retired teacher and I am convinced that children can get a quality education in the public schools by following the suggestions I am going to make. (1) eat a sensible diet and get enough rest; (2) come to school prepared with their homework assignments done to the best of their ability: (3) pay attention when instruction is being given, ask questions when they need clarification; (4) put their cell phones, palm pilots, games, etc. away and give the same attention to their school work as they do to them. At least equal time. (5) Get involved in school activities - sports, drama, music. (6) stay away from alcohol and other drugs. There is plenty in life to get high on without the use of drugs; (7) respect their teachers even if they don't happen to like them. These men and women have given a significant portion of their lives to be prepared to teach. Give them the respect they deserve.

If you earn an associates degree for one major and decide to take up another major right after earning the degree, do you have to retake the same courses again? I took English comp I and II for my Automotive major, which i had just completed and earned an Associates degree for. However, i would like to go back to school to get a degree in Accounting. Would i have to take English Comp I and II again?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer this question.

I'm considering sending my daughter to Catholic elementary school. There are at least four close to where we live. What is the best way to compare those schools? Because they are private, they are not held to the same testing standards as public, and it is not as easy to rate the schools.

In my middle school we have ac (advanced content) and regular classes. (plus special ed but that's unrelated)

I have all ac classes now, but I had a regular content reading class for a while since they had no room in the AC one for me.

anyway, the class was just amazing. it was so incredibly easy i was disgusted. now I am not a genius, there are many smarter kids than me. MANY. but the class was way too easy. I got perfect 100's on every assignment. We had open book tests...yeah. I got a lot of homework done for other classes in that one, but still it bothers me how easy it was.

My ac classes are hard, but not incredibly hard. We do have some assignments that are quite frustrating, but it is definitley at least 5x harder than the regular class.

I do not agree with this school system. The regular classes are much too easy and I don't think that these kids will be prepared for college and/or highschool. I feel bad for them. Who agrees/disagrees with me and what can I do..?

Hello,

I am a sixteen year old student who has a less than perfect GPA. For the next school year (07/08) I will be a Junior.

My Question is: Should I stay in school, or drop out and eventually get a GED. But before you go with the first answer, please bare in mind that I have a very unstable family life, and my living situation isn't the best. So, I am not sure if I will have reliable transportation within the next year.

The aforementioned condition is one of the main reasons for my less than perfect grade point average.

About the GED: How long would it take to complete a GED course, and which would be the best route to get a GED if I did decide the latter option.

I believe I have adequete knowledge to hold many different positions, but I do know I should finish school. What types of position would I be able to apply for with only a GED?

Thank You in advanced for all of your help.

I have seen too many people write in here for homework answers. Not just help with their homework but the WHOLE ANSWER. As an educator, I find this very disturbing since this deprives yet another student of a desperately-needed education. What are your thoughts on the above and what could be done to reduce this tragedy of academic function?
