I'm applying to work as a comenius assistant with the British council in Spain for 6 months. I can't decide whether to put age group 3-6 years onld or 6-11 years old as my first choice. I'll mainly be specializing in teaching English and Italian and I'm not sure how many fun activities I can find for 3-6 year olds.

Any suggestions?

I'm looking for input from gradeschool instructors (preferably). How long should it take a 4th grader to do a long division problem? Typical problem would be a 4 or 5 digit dividend and a 3 digit divisor.

I have to do work experience for a week at a job of my choice. I have no idea what i want to be when i leave school, so I thought I'd just go for something fun and interesting, but I dont want to do one of the usual boring after school type jobs.. like video store or fast food place. Anyone have any interesting ideas? I like drama and performing but im not sure where to go for something like that. Ideas appreciated XD Thanks.

I think I will have years 4/5 in my class. Unfortunately I was studying to be a secondary teacher last year, so this is the first time I have the chance to teach the little ones.

I was wondering if any teachers could tell me their favourite ideas for the different subject areas.

Also if there are any kids out there, even if you are in high school, who can remember some great teachers and the things they thought up to make you have fun and learn, that would be great!

Thanks everybody.

i'm 15 and i have developed this anxiety/depression disorder, because of moving from private to public highschool and the whole environment problem i have...i have like one more day left of absences you can miss, i go to a therapist once a week during a school day so i get notes for those days, but the days idon't feel exactly able to get out of bed in the mornings, my parents yell and yell. i talked to them about homeschooling me but then they gave me this whole lecture on how they don't trust me...well my question is, would the cops really come to my house if i miss one more day of an unexcused absence? my mom doesn't really like me all that much, so she just kind of laughs in my face about it and saying she'll jsut let them take me to juvi. it's not that i don't want to go to school, it's just the whole environment. i've talked to the counselor at school, i'm on medication, but i just still have this big phobia of going. help? like what can the police do?

I'm smart. Everyone tells me I am. Everyone says I'm capable of getting straight A's and I believe I have it in me. But I can't do my homework. I sit down and try to do it and all I end up doing is drawing and writing all over the back of the paper, and I think "It's okay, I'll work tomorrow." But I don't. I never do. I'm afraid I'm going to get held back if I don't take action and no matter how hard I try I still end up with nothing done and I really want to work.

Most of my friends that are in 11th grade and taking English 3 Honors, American History, Chemistry Honors, and Algebra 2 Honors told me that next year they are only going to take English 4 Honors and American Gov't/Economics Honors while the rest are just easy regular electives. I'm going to take 5 honors, 1 or 2 AP and 1 regular elective but they said that I exaggerate too much and I should just chill in my senior year. They make a good point but I don't want to be a slacker in my last year of high school. What should I do?

I am typing this at 11 PM, and I was just wondering how all you smart athletes get by in school? I get honor role, but I find that I have to stay up to at least midnight to get my work done. Especially when I have away games, when sometimes I don't get back until like 10 PM. I feel so tired when I get back from playing, but I think once I get on the computer and start working, I kind of wake up. However, at school I tend to drag from lack of sleep. Being able to sleep in on weekends are the only thing that sustains me anymore.

Please note that I am taking all college courses, so I am usually writing some kind of paper each week, not mentioning ususally have a test or quiz in one of my classes.

Urg, good thing I"m a senior. Last year, last year, thats what I keep telling myself. I enjoy sports, but sometimes I wonder why I even play. I got accepted into a college and have a full ride from other scholarships, but I think this is more of a mental thing that I need to proof to myself
