I'm looking for input from gradeschool instructors (preferably). How long should it take a 4th grader to do a long division problem? Typical problem would be a 4 or 5 digit dividend and a 3 digit divisor.

Well, here's the whole story. My son is technically in fourth grade, but is just finishing up fifth grade math. He has done everything well, with the exception of long division. He gets the correct answers, but it takes him about six minutes per problem. It could be that since he is only a fourth grader physically/mentally that it is just a bit tough for him at this stage and next year he'll miraculously be able to do it faster. I'm trying to gauge whether there's something I should be doing to help him improve his speed on them, or if I should just leave it be for now.

Make your guy or woman video. My mom made her very own video to practice us. Tape your self with your video digital camera coaching branch. She made it the place shall we work together along with her in the time of the t.v.
