I'm smart. Everyone tells me I am. Everyone says I'm capable of getting straight A's and I believe I have it in me. But I can't do my homework. I sit down and try to do it and all I end up doing is drawing and writing all over the back of the paper, and I think "It's okay, I'll work tomorrow." But I don't. I never do. I'm afraid I'm going to get held back if I don't take action and no matter how hard I try I still end up with nothing done and I really want to work.

I wont say you are lazy...to me it sounds like a problem...I think mostly is procrastinating that happens a lot in teens including me like I should be doing hw right now but instead I am here answering your question...N-E-ways...I think you should get like help...is there anyone that can help you with this either a relaible teacher or your parents? You there are things like this that you or anyone should keep to themselves like leve your pride to the side...and it is good that you asked for help here but really if you have the opportunity to succeed do not put it to waste you are going to regret it forever...so yeah ask for help and do hw when you can maybe find a distraction or do hw while listening to music etc...

GOOD LUCK!

Read "The Homework Myth" "Why our kids get too much of
a bad thing" by Alfie Kohn.

I have four children in school.
This book was very enlightening. You may be plain burnt out as many of our students are today.

Find something that excites you to learn about. That is what
learning was meant to be about.

You can do your homework! Just try to focus, sometimes when I'm having a hard time doing homework I ground myself till it gets done. It sounds weird but it works.

Sounds like you might have a problem with keeping your mind on what you are doing. If you have the same problem in school maybe you have ADD..attention deficit disorder or maybe dyslexia. Talk with your parents and family doctor and get it checked out.

i know its hard to hear this but ur problem is that ur just LAZY. there's nothing else to it. one of these ur gonna have to get a parent or teacher and make them SIT by you and keep u on task. after a while it should sink in, but right now its ur own fault for letting yourself get like this. sorry i dont mean to be mean but its the truth....

take out every single distraction.
go to your teacher after school and ask for help if you want to.
