I'm applying to work as a comenius assistant with the British council in Spain for 6 months. I can't decide whether to put age group 3-6 years onld or 6-11 years old as my first choice. I'll mainly be specializing in teaching English and Italian and I'm not sure how many fun activities I can find for 3-6 year olds.

Any suggestions?

6-11 is the best one coz the children can speak better than 3-6 and the are more likely to be control, i was once a play teacher for a school and the age group i chooses was 6-10

well if you u choose ages 3-6 they'll be all whiny and dribbaly or sweet shy angels and if you choose ages 6-11 they'll be all getting rude to you or sensible and quiet and if you choose ages 12-16 they''s be really really rude or intelligent in considerate and sensible. so theres a pro and a con for every age. but it also depends on what type of person you are. if you patient and a calm person go with the littlens' and if you can cope with rowdy kids go the older ones!
happy teaching!!!!

The youngsters can do lots of really fun activities and there are loads of good activity books around to give you ideas. They generally learn fast and can be so much fun. The older kids would also be fun with lots of things to do but if they are new to the language can be more self conscious about using it. More depends on the level you are teaching than the age.

3-6 yrs, At this age children are receptive and ready to learn. They rarely have a problem with peer pressure and are eager when activities are presented to them.
Activities are easy to find for this age group, easy to prepare and can be used more than once.

The 3-6 group, although hard work are so receptive at this age and are like little sponges. They are funny creative and not too worldly wise to not enjoy most things you try to do with them

6-11 definately, with the younger ones you spend too much time dealing with toiletting needs, etc. by 6 most kids behave well, want to learn, keen to join in and do whatever you arrange.

Good luck.

go with the older group, you will have more scope to be creative with your lessons and kids this age have really great personalities!
