this is not the only time she has said this. The school has called acs on us twice now. the only reason why they haven't arrested us is because there are no marks, bruses on them.she has gone to see a counsler before. when we asked her why is she saying this she told us that she doesn't know. And that she wants us to move back home because she doesn't like it here. this is the same school that our children have gotten hurt since the begining of the school year('06)we have 7-10 letters from the school where kids have hit and kicked our children in the back. we have called the school district and the board of ed. they tell us we can't take our kids out since there is an open case aganist us.

In my school we take 8 classes (4 each day). I have planned my schedule for next year (12h grade):

1.) English 4 Honors, 2.) Pre-Calculus Honors, 3.) Physics Honors, 4.) American Government/Economics Honors, 5.) Naval Science 4, 6.) Anatomy and Physiology Honors, 7.) AP Chemistry, 8.) Critical Thinking (AP Chemistry).
And in addition : 9.) AP Biology (online)
That's 9 classes total, actually 8 because my school makes students take the hard AP classes everyday since our schedule fits for only 4 classes a day and AP classes like Chemistry and Biology need more time for preparation of the AP Exam.

Are these too much or should I change it?

Why is this even in effect? All it is doing is dumbing down our children! I have to actually go get books and teach my kids at home after they have been in school all day! The education department needs an overhaul!

I'm a US citizen/Cdn resident enrolled in grade 11 in Canada.
I'm interested in applying to US colleges, but I've only studied one year of foreign language in grade 9 (french), and I do not plan on studying it again (partly because I'd have to go back to studying it as grade 10 french). I meet the minimum/exceed all the academic course requirements for most colleges, except for the foreign language.
Should I be concerned? Would it really matter if I had one year instead of two? I don't exactly have a way to take a foreign language again until next year. If I do take the foreign language, I'd be taking grade 10 french as a grade 12. I want to take more challenging university preparation courses in my grade 12 year.
What should I do? Will I be able to just pass by with one year of foreign language? I'm really worried because most schools I'm looking look for 2 years of foreign language. Are these requirements geared more towards kids in american high schools?
