While it may be unpopular among most students, uniforms are a great idea for students and staff. The obvious reasons include keeping the "haves" and "have nots" from being conspicuous. However, I think the safety issue is a far better reason for advocating for uniforms. A quick glance down the hall and one knows instantly if someone belongs or not. Additionally, if a child skps school it is apparent to the community.

I think wearing uniforms is a good idea because you won't have to look for you anything for school the next day especially if you don't have that many clothes

When I was in high school, I would have said it was a bad idea.

Now that I am not in high school, I wish we'd had uniforms. It seems especially necessary these days where consumerism is out of control and kids (and their parents) are constantly competing to see who has the most and nicest stuff. School is for learning, not comparing new shoes or teasing who kids who aren't wearing the right jeans.

I t cuts down on the cost of street clothes.
It keeps the gang colors out of the schools.
It will keep the kids from teasing each other, because they are all dressed the same.
You can tell if the kid is skipping school, they have on their school uniform.
