The more, the better. Most colleges will ask for a certain requirement, such as 2 credits. If you go above it, it'll look even better. Below it, they may put you lower on the list or may not consider you at all (considering other aspects in the admission process.)
It'd be a good way to show that you're serious about your studies...and Spanish really isn't a hard class at all. I'm in Spanish III, and it's actually kinda fun. So I definitely advise you to take at least 2 years of Spanish...go for three to even better your chances. Or try another foreign language if your school offers it.

Of course taking any foreign language looks great on your transcript. Many colleges do require that you take at least 2 years of a foreign language like Spanish, French, etc.

Many colleges require that you take 4 years of language as part of your gen eds to get a bachelors degree, but will count the language you took in high school. Find out the requirements for the colleges you are interested in - it's much easier to get the language credit done and over with in high school than to have to deal with it in college.

You just need two years of any foreign language - which one doesn't matter.
Good Luck!!!
