I am a Elementary Edu. Major. The class I am taking requires me to interview some teachers who have been working as teachers for at least five year. I'm helping my friend's son, a 7 year old boy, with his studies, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. He can't read many words yet, so he is unable to do his school work well. How do I teach him to read? I have no knowledge on phonics too.

Also, he often writes 'mirror images' of alphabets and numbers; how do i teach him to remember?

Any teachers with good advice?

There's a principal in our town that is absolutely horrible. Many students, parents and teachers have had problems with her and we want to get her out. The DOE (Department of Education) is too cowardly to get rid of her and she's very slimy. It seems that our complaints go nowhere and she continues to ruin the lives of kids in the community. What's the best way to put pressure on her so that she'll be held accountable for what she has done?

As the sun arose I was getting ready to go to school, and getting ready to crash the class with my friends at A.N.S. This all began in the fifth grade; this was one of my worst years at A.N.S. And the reason that it was a bad year for me was because I always got bad grade. My grades were between ten to fifty percent, so this means that my grades were below average.

I remember that besides getting bad grades I also went to Mr. Hammond’s everyday; the reason for my visit at Mr. Hammond’s office was that I always got in trouble. But the thing was that everyday I went to Mr. Hammond’s office I told him a different version of what had happen. But it was basically the same old things I went to the office for, for example the teachers send me there because I didn’t do my homework, others times just because I was not doing what I was expected to do, but they never send me to the office for bothering someone.

every since i entered high school my whole world has turned, from 9th grade when a senior tried getting into my pants the whole year to 10th grade where i struggled with low self esteem and depresion and failing some classes. To 11th grade now when im just finally starting to find who i am and finding out that my ''best friend'' isnt such a best friend anymore. I want to graduate next year its my biggest passion to succeed and prove everyone wrong about me. I'm starting to drop some friends/crushes and even drama and focusing on me. I mostly keep to myself. Now im more concerend with my grades...Is it too late for all this? theres only a few more months left of school. I just need those words of wisdom to keep me on the right track...

i'm in 11th grade and at my school there is this teacher who doesn't even teach me but he acts really wierd with me. Hes like the strictest teacher in the school to everyone but me. Once he took a photo of me and started going on about how much he LIKED it, i mean it was just a pic of me playing with my hair. Another time i was in his room for some reason and he just came out with 'fancy a job rosa' and winked at me, then a few days later he was shouting at some kids and came up to me after and said 'i'm not mean, well i'm not mean to you because i know you like and i'm nice to you, you've seen my nice side ' and winked at me yet again. Whenever i walk past he has to have some degree of eye contact with me and whenever i talk to him he always touches me on the arm or shoulder. Its only me hes like this with, why am i been singled out like this? (sorry for posting so much i want professional opinions of other teachers)
