every since i entered high school my whole world has turned, from 9th grade when a senior tried getting into my pants the whole year to 10th grade where i struggled with low self esteem and depresion and failing some classes. To 11th grade now when im just finally starting to find who i am and finding out that my ''best friend'' isnt such a best friend anymore. I want to graduate next year its my biggest passion to succeed and prove everyone wrong about me. I'm starting to drop some friends/crushes and even drama and focusing on me. I mostly keep to myself. Now im more concerend with my grades...Is it too late for all this? theres only a few more months left of school. I just need those words of wisdom to keep me on the right track...

You've obviously had a more tumultous high school experience than most people so far. It's definately a good decision to forget about the drama and focus on your grades. I don't know what your GPA is, but just work hard this second semester (hopefully you're taking 1 or 2 AP classes to boost your GPA) and go for A's and B's.

Don't worry about what happened in the past, take it as a series of experiences which have made you mentally tougher. Try saying out loud to yourself, "I'm in a great situation, I have a lot of things going for me right now" with conviction, and you will start to believe it.

If you're worried about college, and that your grades aren't going to be top-notch, try and get into some extra curricular activities. Do community service: that will get the attention of Liberal Arts colleges who wan't to see a balanced individual.

It's never to late to make positive changes in your life. It sounds like you're figuring out how important it is to take charge of your own destiny.

You need to make an appointment with your academic advisor or counselor and find out exactly what classes you need to take to graduate. Focus on studying, attend after school tutoring sessions or academic workshops that your teachers might hold, especially if they offer anything just before finals. Don't let yourself get behind, stay on top of homework. Use a planner and map out when homework is due and set up your own time table for when you're going to work on it. Be pro-active about your academic success.

From there, you can begin making plans for what you want to do after high school. You'll need some more education to be a successful, independent adult, so think about what kind of job you're interested in. Your high school counselor should be able to advise you about college too. Do you want a four year degree, or some technical skills?

If you're not going to qualify to attend a four year college right out of high school, find your community college and get started on a plan.

It's not too late to get on the right track for success and it's not too hard to stay on the right track. You are important and your goals and dreams should be your #1 priority. Anyone who tries to get your to stray from your goals, doesn't deserve your attention, friendship or loyalty.

Good luck!!!

Its never too late. I see you have gone through some troubles. You have held up. thats good. It sucks when you find that best friends aren't really that.
Try not to keep too yourself too much. We all need friends.
But, on the other hand, if you are concerned with success, you ned the time to accomplish that.
Don't have the aim of succeeding to prove others wrong. Try to succeed because the success will give you more opportunities.
Work and succeed for you. And if you just miss it, don't give up. there are more opportunities.
Good luck.

No, it's never too late. Keep working at it! Do very well on the SATs! I remember high school. Most of the time, after high school, high school life doesn't really matter. It's just a phase in life. I was never popular in high school and kids made fun of me all the time for being a "nerd". Now I'm at a major research university and on my way to a secure high-paying job while those popular kids at high school are working mediocre jobs and going to mediocre colleges. I'm also considered much more attractive now and I seemed to have bloomed later on in life, while those who were "hot" in high school are not so hot now. Just focus on your grades and your long-term future!

Good for you. Keep focusing on yourself because after you graduate (and actually now), those losers will mean nothing. I stayed to myself in school and was not exactly popular. I was really focused on my grades and now i look at where I am compared to the rest of the people I graduated with and can laugh.

some times out of the mouths of babes come wise answers.
my six year old nephew pointed this out to me years ago,
in which he stated "the first thing you got to do is satisfy yourself".
him being so young i, of course didn't take this in the context that
it meant some thing nasty. to me it meant that the first obligation
you have is yourself because you are the one that has to live with yourself. if you can close your eye's at night and know that you did the best that you could do, then go to sleep, if not plan on making things better for the next day and how to improve.
never be talked into anything that you can't live with.
good luck.
