The age to drop out of school in the state of Texas is 16. You can get around that though by telling them you are going to be home schooled. I don't advise doing this, however.

I didn't think children could drop out of school unless their parents signed for them to do so. After the age of 18 they are considered adults, and the parents don't have much say with the schools then.
Check with the counselors at school.
