it gives me 'It has a heart of the stones'. Why does this happen? Any ideas/ answers to the question above?

I live in Madrid, and a friend wants to buy a translator for his wife... but does not really know what to get. Something that is high quality but not too expensive. And it would have to be an English-Spanish translator, although I think they make ones that have multiple languages.

It is Special Education and most of the students have learning disabilities. We are doing algebraic fractions with positive numbers. What can I do to help them learn and get them interested? I'd like to get them up and moving! The school is in an urban area and we have no access to computers.

Alright. I have stumbled upon an obstacle in my ninth grade Honors Freshman English class. 75% of all the students who type an essay get "middle range grades," which my teacher classifies as C to B-. A high grade for her is a B to an A. She has taught about 1500 students in her life and has never given out an A+ on an essay. The only two students to get A's (out of 130) on the essay were my friends, a boy who received an A- and wants to major in literature (journalism), and a girl who takes more time to check her work than to actually type it. I know for a fact these two kids spent about 12 hours each on the essay. She has already given out "quizzes" with AP and ACT level questions. I got a low B on the essay. How can I get an A- or better on essays without trying so hard that it kills me (I don't want to major in English; Biology and Math is for me). Thanks

It has been shown via studies that students do not perform as well in school when they are hungry. Nutrition is especially important in the formitive years as it impacts many things, both physical and mental and far too many students skip breakfast, harming their development and limiting their absorbtion of information.

Why can we not provide breakfast, free of charge, to all students in kinderarden through eighth grade?

It's for a school project--the whole family is supposed to collaborate. I thought a mobile would be fun, but don't know how to make one (what materials do you use? how do you balance it?) Have you ever made one? Could you either explain how to go about it, or steer me to a good link where I can find out? My son is only 6, so it needs to be something fairly simple so that he can participate.

Thank you so much.

My son's teacher continues to smack my 8 yr old son. It's 2 times now that i've noticed marks of fingers on his cheeks. After warning him to stop smacking him, he continues. My son who was doing well in his studies and he has never missed school for even one day, now he's telling me he doesn't want to attend school. He is scared now. he has changed so much. Today he smacked him because he had done a mistake in maths. Is it a reason to smack a young boy like this?
