Does anyone know a good brand of electronic translators?

I live in Madrid, and a friend wants to buy a translator for his wife... but does not really know what to get. Something that is high quality but not too expensive. And it would have to be an English-Spanish translator, although I think they make ones that have multiple languages.

This is a GIFT for a friend. She is an english Teacher and her husband wants to buy her a good translator for her birthday.
