I just started high school today...but I don't know what to do for tomorrow, if I should bring my textbooks to class or not. The teachers didn't say to bring them, but maybe they just expect us to? Then again, it's only the second day... Do you really use books on the second day? I don't know what to do. I don't want to look like an idiot in front of everyone...:[

I object to this, as there is no such thing, geopolitically, and no such possible geometric solid. There is a Western half of the Northern Hemisphere, and vice versa, but this is not how she is teaching the class. Should I gently correct her?

I have 2 do an "ABC" book 4 a project and every letter has to be a word that has 2 do with the religion Judaism. For examlpe H for Hanakkah, B for Bar Mitzvah, etc.
I can't think of a word for L,E,Q,V, and X.

I just started school again and didn't have a very good first day back. I'm really shy, kind of lonerish (although I do have friends, I just don't talk a lot in the classroom) but I normally make out okay in school. But I have one class filled with people I can't stand. They're not like me at all and I just don't fit in. They all try to be cool and don't like people like me. During the whole class people were talking - and the teacher didn't even tell them to stop! He said he's fine with talking in the classroom. I don't know how I'll be able to work like this! Nobody shuts up. And there's not one person in the class who I can talk to - I don't know what I'm going to do when it comes time to do an activity in groups. They don't like me and I don't like them! I don't know what to do or how to handle this - maybe I just had a bad first day and things will get better, but if things continue being like they were today, I don't know how I'll be able to survive the year. Advice, anyone?

My son is entering year 11 - GCSE year. He was diagnosed with epilepsy last August however during this time his epilepsy has been in no way under control. My son we have found out in the last 2 weeks has been having 10 - 15 peti mals (small fits) during the day. This seems to have been something that has happened regulary during the last year and been increasing without it being recognised as a fit from myself and others but had been thought to be day dreaming. My son's grades have seriously been affected by his disability as he is missing so much work in the classroom due to these seizures. Due to hormones it has been difficult to find medication that compliments my son. I have tried to contact the LEA though no joy they don't return my calls. I need to know what rights my son has and whether they will provide extra support for him. Please don't anyone give me an obnoxious reply or a reply that can be disrespectful. My family and I are already suffering enough.

If you think they are wrong how could the system possibly be changed? To propose a policy that would eliminate faith based schools would be political suicide. It is hardly a vote winner.

At school in my science class my teacher gives instructions and reads through worksheets with us. Everyone says they understand what has to be done. How is it that half of the class end up doing something they shouldn't,ruining it for those of us who do? Is it just my school?
