knowledge with syllabals. i need to teach my kid how to recognise syllable in a word.Her teacher suggested to clap when you hear a syllabal.i know vaguly...........help me

It's a single sound or 'beat' e.g. the word 'syllable' has three - syll-a-ble. You could clap three times as you say it1.syll 2. a 3. ble
'interesting' has four 1.in 2. ter. 3. est 4. ing

When you sound something out, anywhere you would pause is going to be a syllable.
