I have passed my PGCE and am still awaiting my certificate from the GTC to say that I have achieved qualified teacher status. Without this I cannot work and am reliant on my partner for money as I have come to the end of my overdraft. I have joined an agency and am only awaiting this certificate to begin work. However I have phoned them up 5 times in the last month and have finally been told I should recieve my certificate by the end of this month. This isn't, in my opinion, good enough; how to I move forward from this situation? They tell me there is nothing they can do, that I cannot have a letter to prove my QTS as I have not yet paid them any money. Don't think they deserve any, frankly. Any advice welcome, thank you.

Scene: A parent or parents rushing about each day, Pre-schools overflowing. Teachers lacking credentials. TeacherAids fustered, without proper training. Parents forced to work two jobs in order to be able to pay for these so-called pre-school/day care centers. Many overcrowded.
Case in point. A single father places 4 yr old in pre-school. Mainly kids playing games or napping each day. Some academic instruction but NO assist. with learning ro write name, numbers. "Educated" assurances that new syst. of learning is to let "kids" write what they see - to NOT encourage good penmanship, amongst other sadly lacking teaching skills.
Father takes kid out...places with educated aunt who is home each day w/two pre-schoolers herself. Child flourishes with simple learning aids. Is now fifth grader. Does excellent in all subjects. The Moral? $375,00 week at so-called pre-school/day care versus $150.00 week (she didn't ask to be paid but he insisted) where child excelled.
What's happening?

I'm not interested in how I will look if I drop out. I want to focus on perfecting my artistic capabilities, improve my physical condition, etc. School is a distraction I can no longer tolerate.

Preferably, I would like to leave legally, rather than running away to another country (or whatever) until I'm 18. How do I drop out?

on report cards and any imformation sheets you can sit down and probably check off several mistakes. I know of a teacher who refuses to correct spelling as it decreases the childs willingness to try and use more extended words. what is the oint of that when you cannot work out what the child is trying to spell.
