I have passed my PGCE and am still awaiting my certificate from the GTC to say that I have achieved qualified teacher status. Without this I cannot work and am reliant on my partner for money as I have come to the end of my overdraft. I have joined an agency and am only awaiting this certificate to begin work. However I have phoned them up 5 times in the last month and have finally been told I should recieve my certificate by the end of this month. This isn't, in my opinion, good enough; how to I move forward from this situation? They tell me there is nothing they can do, that I cannot have a letter to prove my QTS as I have not yet paid them any money. Don't think they deserve any, frankly. Any advice welcome, thank you.

This isn't uni/ college that are causing the problems it's the general teaching council that all teachers must belong to in order to work as a teacher. I can't work as I don't have the appropriate paperwork from them- hence my reluctance to give them money when I will be paying for time in which I can't teach.
